About this role:

The Billing Specialist II provides medical billing support to the Third-Party Billing Department. This position gathers and enters demographic and insurance information, accurately enters charges and adjustments, responds to inquiries, and handles designated collection and claims processing tasks.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am - 4 pm

We are looking for people who have:

Medical Billing knowledge or formal billing education strongly preferred
Previous customer service experience, medical billing, or patient accounts experience strongly preferred
High School graduate or equivalent
Required Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Demonstrated problem solver
- Ability to calmly and competently explain complex medical billing issues to insurance companies

In this role, you will get to:

Client Insurance Eligibility Verification
Identify and differentiate insurance carriers
Enter client demographics into the Thom Biller System
Complete charge entries from weekly billing logs for the Agency programs
Analyze and correct billing reports/keying errors
Match weekly activity journal reports
Enter Monthly Discharges
Perform basic billing tasks
Work claim aging reports and denials to assure proper adjudication; including requesting referrals for Medicaid claims, and medical record documentation
Coordinate claim process by performing Cash Posting and Claim Submission
Perform other professional duties as requested.
